Capital Gains Tax
Belize's Income and Business Tax Act taxes only specifically enumerated categories of income and excludes receipts of a capital nature from the business tax base; individuals have no general capital gains tax on the disposal of securities.
Wealth Tax
No net wealth tax is identified in Belize's tax framework. Belize's primary direct-tax statute, the Income and Business Tax Act (Cap. 55), covers income tax and a business tax on gross receipts, with no provision establishing a tax on individuals' total net assets.
