Notes
Income Tax
Qatar imposes no income tax on employed individuals' salaries, wages, and allowances. A self-employed individual may be subject to tax on qualifying income from Qatari sources.
VAT
Qatar levies no VAT or general sales tax. A VAT is anticipated under the GCC framework but has not been implemented.
Capital Gains Tax
Qatar exempts individuals' capital gains on the disposal of real estate and securities from taxation, provided the assets are not part of a taxable business activity. Non-residents are the exception: Qatar-sourced capital gains they realise are subject to a 10% income tax.
Crypto Tax
Qatar imposes no general income tax on individuals: "Income tax is not imposed on employed individuals' salaries, wages, and allowances." Capital gains derived by an individual are exempt from taxation provided they are not part of the assets of a taxable business activity, so gains on cryptocurrency held as a personal investment are not taxed.
Wealth Tax
No net wealth/worth taxes levied in Qatar.
